Use case
The Employee Sponsorship Webpage is a key feature in a SaaS-based captive portal authentication system that allows employees to create guest credentials. These credentials enable external users (guests, visitors) to access the internet for a specified duration, with the access managed by predefined profiles. This delegation of guest credential creation streamlines the guest access process while ensuring security and accountability.
Key Functionality
Delegated Guest Access: Employees are empowered to create temporary internet access credentials for guests.
Time-limited Access: Access is restricted to specific start and end dates, ensuring that guest access is temporary and automatically expires.
Profile-based Access: Guest accounts are associated with specific access profiles (e.g., "guest"), which determine the permissions and restrictions applied to their internet usage.
1. Access to the Employee Sponsorship Webpage
The administrators logs in to the-Fi Admin UI > Users > Sponsors.
You can also access the Employee Sponsorship Webpage by going to
https://portal.cloudi-fi.net/sponsor.php?ch=************
- ***** is your Cloudi-fi public key (Go to your Cloudi-fi Admin interface > Settings > Company Account)
2. Create a Guest account
Enter required information
- Employee detail
- Your email address
- Guest details
- User Name : Visitor first and Last name
- Email : Visitor email address
- Profile : Account validity period (thanks to this Profile, you will be able to set different account validity periods)
- Start date
- End date
After entering the details, click Receive credentials. The credentials will be generated, and received by email by the Visitor.
