Understand how scopes work and learn how to fine-tune your administrators privileges on Cloudi-Fi dashboard.
Use case
Scopes help you control what group of data your admins have access to in the Cloudi-Fi admin interface. For instance, country managers for specific business units or brands can only see reports for the locations they are scoped with. Locations can belong to one or several scopes. You can add, edit or remove scopes from the location page.
Prerequisites
Access to Cloudi-Fi Admin console.
1. Create a new scope
Navigate to Locations > Scope, enter the name of the new scope and click save.
2. Add locations to the scope
Choose the location(s) to add to the scope, press Add then Save.
3. Assign scope to admin
Go to Administrators > Accounts and select Admin you wanted to add the scope to.
Click dropdown and select the scope and click Save
Primary and secondary scope: what is the difference?
When you first create an administrator with no scope, the account has no restriction. When you assign a primary scope to the new admin, he will be bound to view and manage the data related to the selected scope. In addition, you can assign secondary scopes to administrators to further restrict access to data. While the primary scope is unique, multiple secondary scopes can be defined.
The relationship between primary scope (P) and secondary scopes (Sx) can be detailed, such as P AND (S1 OR S2). Let's see an example:
